AMERICAN MINSTRELS.
The Hugo Bros. Greater American Minstrels play their engagement of one performance at the Coronation Hall ou Thursday evening next, when the local theatre going public will be given an opportunity to see at first baud the truly southern darky in his native element, singing and dancing aud playing on musical instruments, for it there is one thing more than any other born in the southern blood it is the natural bent for music and amusement. The compuuy is making a tour of the entire world, opening an engagement of two years iu Australia early iu the summer, and then going to other points on the Far East and Client. The attraction, like #very other, will have the customary first part, the olio of vaudeville numbers of a laughable nature. It will contain iu its ranks-only the best aud toremost of the coloured race, both as to musicians, baud members, singers and dancers. Each one of the large company was selected soieiy with an eye to their respective merit as an individual performer and they have been carefully rehearsed lor a con,' .derable time to make them letter perfect in their parts. Preceding the performance a street parade is given and there is also an open air concert iu front of the theatre, which will furnish an accurate idea oi the general worth ot this big company.

drama, “ Tom Butler,” a rattling detective story, 2,550 feet long, full of rapid incidents and exciting situations ; this film like all other Eclair productions is clean, yet full of sensational incidents ; “ When Memory Calls,” a strong dramatic adaptation of one of literature’s sweetest tales, produced by Frank Beal, from *’ The Misanthrope Heart,” by H. S. Paine j “ Herring Fishing,” an industrial film by the S. and A. Company ; beautiful scenery, “ Harvest Time in Sicily ”; '* Pathe Gazette ” ; a splendid Selig drama, ‘ ‘ Blackbeard ” ; Deacon Debbs, ’ ’ a tipt-op comedy by the Thauhouser Company; a Vltagraph comedy featuring Mr John Bunny, “The Ventriloquist’s Trunk,” a real good comedy in every sense of the word; ‘‘Stage Struck Lizzie,” the funniest and quaintest film play ever produced. Lizzie and hei rolling pin are worth seeing. A tip-top programme, everyone is sure of being pleased.
