FIRE ! FIRE !

It’s an ill wind that blows no good. Although the recent fire in Main Street resulted in very serious losses to those immediately concerned, particularly to Mr G. H. Stiles, proprietor of the White House, it is going to prove an advantage to all requiring certain lines that were salvaged from this drapery establishment. The enterprising proprietor has secured the Coronation Hall Supper Room in which to temporarily continue his business and will open there tomorrow morning. The goods that were salvaged were specially picked out and arc the best quality in the particular lines. The whole ot the salvage has been handed over by tne insurance Company without any deduction wnatever from the insurances, and tiie proprietor has decided to pass this rebate on to his customers, thus giving an opportunity, seldom met with, of procuring the goods at absolute salvage prices. In consequence of this, it is expected that a week’s business will be done in two days. In the course of a week a display of new season’s millinery will be shown in the office at the Council Chamber, lately used in connection with the gas works. Indents of new season’s goods are expected next month. The proprietor would like the public to bear with him for a few days until he can thoroughly reorganise, but no one should miss the great sale that is to commence tomorrow in the Coronation Hall Supper Room. —Advt.
