DROWNING FATALITY.

TWO MEN LOSE THEIR LIVES. Waimatk, July 22. A sad drowning fatality occurred in the Waihao river on Sunday. Three young men, Kirkaldy, Duncan and Adams, the owners of a motor launch, went out on the river. The engine stopped and a strong current carried the launch towards the outlet. Two of the occupants jumped out to swim ashore, but were carried out to sea and drowned. Adams remained in the boat and caught the outlet box when passing and drew himself ashore. Kircaldy’s body has been recovered. The launch was washed to sea.
