FIRE.

An unoccupied dwelling of six rooms situated in Norbiton Road, and owned by Mr T. Curtis, of Foxtou, was totally destroyed by fire ou Thursday uight. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery as the house had not been occupied lor weeks past. On Thursday night when Mr G. P. Walker, who resiues next door, retired at about xo o’clock there was no sign of fire. He was awakened at about xi.ls o’clock by the reflection, but the fire then had a very big hold, arid it was impossible to do anything. The firebell was rung and a number of residents were soon on the spot, and busied themselves by removing Mr Walker’s effects from his dwelling, in case that building should also catch, but fortunately there was very little wind at the time, which saved the otuer dwelling. The building was insured for £l5O in the Northern office.
