BLASCHECK.
Mr Joseph Blascheck who made .such a successful lour through New Zealand at the beginning of the year, is paying a flying farewell visit to the Dominion before leaving lor Loudon, where he is to open at the Queen’s Hall in September. The delightful entertainment which Mr Blascheck aud Miss Wrighton present, and which they very aptly call “Society Snapshots,” is quite unique. From the opening ot the pertoroiauce to the close we are treated to a series of wonderful character studies, musical monologues, humorous songs aud sketches aud impersonation?, that are simply bewildering in their marvellous variety. Mr Blascheck is much more than a mere Society Entertainer, ke is an actor of the first rank, aud his power ot mimicry has never been excelled. He has had the honour ot appearing before the late King Edward VII, who was a great admirer ot his work, aud considered him by far the finest humourist of the time. No artist that has ever visited our shores has gained such unstinted and universal praise from the whole of the New Zealand press. Miss Mildred Wrighton, wuo e “Songs at the Piano,” created a tv;a re in London receutl\, is 1.1 o.iiy an accomplished musician and vocalist, but is the chiet exponent of those light, refined aud dainty humorous ditties that have become the rage of late. Mr Blascheck will give his only entertainment at the Town Hall, Foxton, on Tuesday next, July 2nd. Seats for the same may be reserved at the Council’s Office.
