NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.
AT PALMERSTON NORTH
The entries are now finally closed, and in the hands of the printers. The total is something like 1,810, against 1316 last year. With supplementary entries, it is anticipated that a mil advance ot 500 entries will be the result of the bookings. This is exceedingly satisfactory, and is an indication of the increasing popularity of this organisation. In addition to this, the demand for space for exhibition has exceeded all previous demands, and the officials have before them once more the prospect of an extension to the buildings. Preparations are well forward, and if the weather conditions are at all favourable, Palmerston North is assured of a full house. The two jumping events Have attracted a lot of entries, and account for some 67 competitors between them. His Excellency Lord Islington opens the show at noon next Tuesday, and from then visitors can lay themselves out tor an interesting time, as there will be plenty to see in all directions.
