CANCER TREATMENT.
A WAR N 1 In G
Mr VV. H. Judkins writes to the Melbourne Age : "I write from my retirement in order that I may save other people much needless suffering, and hope that what I have to say may go lar and wide. When last year my health gave way again, i submitted to what is known as erysipelas treatment tor cancer. The virus of erysipelas is injected subcutaneously every second or third day, and the patient gets repeated attacks of the complaint, which is supposed to burn up the growth. During the last few weeks tully thirty people have communicated with me, each telling me that someone belonging to them has submitted to the same Ueatmeut with rare results —paiu insupportable, emaciation and exhaustion —and lu every case they have said the patients have submitted, haviug been told that ‘the erysipelas treatment completely cured Mr Judkins, aud he had nothing to do now but to get strong.’ Now it is rather a painful thing to talk about, but 1 am alarmed and distressed at the sulfenngs I am being made to cause others, aud at its growing to such dimensions. May I say, for the beuehl of the suffeiers aud others, that unfortunately I am not cured; that the trouble is there, aud more troublesome than ever; aud that the erysipelas treatment worked me nothing but harm. It gave me mouths of agonising paiu, reduced my weight from 10 stone to 7 stone, brought ’o the brink ot the grave, made , ciipple, ana lett me an em_. .aietl physical wreck. Tor innately we stopped in the nick of time, Hut tor the last six months 1 have been rally - Uig Horn Us iii eUects aud eveiy while attacks of erysipelas return, it is apparent lo lire most casual observer that the comparatively slow progress of the internal growth alone could not have produced these special results, aud I really had another disease introduced, which almost killed me. It is a cruel thiug that other people are suffering exactly in the same way, under the belief that I was cured by it. May I ask auy cancer sufferers wuo are thinking of using it to write to me first, aud to urge those who are using it to stop it if they want to rally while they have a chance ? They will be easier it they elect to light one disease only.
