FATAL RESULT OF MOTOR ACCIDENT.

Owen Arthur Cadwallader, who was severely injured by a motor car accident at the Black Bridge, between Carterton and Greytowu, on Friday night last, died as the result of burns. Deceased was 37 years old, and leaves a widow and three children. He was a prominent footballer, and frequently played among the Wairarapa representatives.
The accident which was the cause of Mr Cadwallader’s death occurred at 11.45 last Friday night. Deceased was returning to Carterton from Martinborough in his car, when he drove over the northern approach to the Black bridge, a drop of about ten feet. The car overturned, pinned him underneath, and flung a passenger, A. D. Annesley, clear. Simultaneously the car burst into flames, which quickly enveloped Cadwallader. Annesley extricated him, and succeeded in subduing the flames. Cadwallader was taken to a private hospital. He was badly burned all over his right arm and both legs. The car was a complete wreek, only the steel frame and engine remaining. Mr Cadwallader had been prominent for a number of years in Wairarapa football, and was a member n! a -.ell-known family, who will nave rue sympathy of a large circle of friends in the bereavement they have sustained.
