Due of the cases which the Gland Jury haa to deal with in tne oupieme Court, at Wellington, yesterday, was that m which a young man was charged with opening another person’s telegram.
When the list was dually disposed ot, the loremau, aduicsoing isii Justice Chapman, said that he dull been ashed by the Gland juiy to draw aacutiuu tu tue laxity displayed iu allowing tags tor sealing postal packets to tie obtained by telegraph messengers. The foreman added that they were all business men, and were liable to have their telegrams opeued and resealed ■by a messenger outside tue office. He understood that there was uo difficulty whatever in obtaining these tags.
His Honour thanked the foreman tor his observations, and promised to ask the Minister for Justice to bring them under the notice ot the Tostmaster-General. He had uo doubt that the recommendations would receive attention.
