FOOTBALL.

A special general meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union is to be held at Manakau ou Thursday evening, for the purpose of revising the rules. A meeting of the management committee will be held at the conclusion of the general meeting.

Local footballers will indulge iu a practice ou the racecourse ou Saturday afternoon next, when it is hoped there will be a big muster. As tbe championship matches will commence within the next two or three weeks, it is necessary that the local players should get in as much practice as possible.

On Saturday, the LeviuWauderers and Rovers (Shannon) senior aud junior teams tried conclusions, the senior match being played at Shannon aud the junior at Levin. The senior game resulted in a draw, 11 points each, aud the Royers won the junior match by three points to nil.
