HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual general meeting of, the Horowhenua .Rugby Union was held at Manakau on Wednesday, when there were present : Messrs Hankins and Mcßaiu (vicepresidents) and the following delegates : Messrs Procter, Easther, Rout (Revin-Wanderers), Kelly, Moynihan (Rovers), McMillan (Koputaroa), Wilson, Maun (Tainui), Bevan, Weipihana (Hui Mai), Uumsden, Whibley and Baylis (Foxton). The annual report and balance sheet showing a credit balance ot is 2d was read and adopted. The small credit balance was due to the heavy expense of “rep” tours, the Wairaiapa trip alone costing something over ,£35.
A statement was read from the combined Manawatu-Horowheuua committee, showing that the two matches played last season had resulted in a profit of £9 10s. The Wanganui Rugby Union wrote forwarding suggested alterations to rules and asking whether the Horowhenua Union would support same or not. —i'ue rules were considered and it was resolved to support certain ones. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : Patron, Mr J. Kenbell (Ohauj ; president, Mr H. Mcßain (Mauakau); vice-presidents, Messrs Dr. Adams (Foxtou), C. C. iiiggiuson (Koputaroa), Kelly (Shannon,), J. G. Hankies (Levin) and W. McKegg (Otaki) ; delegate 10 N.Z. K.ugby Union, Mr J. W. Procter; vice-president to N.Z. Rugby Union, Mr J. G. Hankins ; hon. secretary, Mr F. Rout; hou. treasurer, Mr j. W. Procter ; management committee, Messrs McMillan, Whibley, Mann, W. Sevan and Kaurauti; senior selector, Mr R. Smith; junior selectors, Messrs McMillan, W. Broughton and R. Weipihaua; auditors, Messrs J. Mclntyre and B, R. Gardener.
Mr Whibley submitted an accident insurance scheme, which with certain amendments was adopted and will come into iorce this season. Messrs Whibley, Procter and Easther were appointed a committee to manage the insurance lund. A committee consisting of Messrs Hankins, Rout and Easther was set up to revise the rules and submit same for adoption to a general meeting to be held on tne 25th instant.
MEETING OF MANAGE MENT COMMITTEE.
A meeting ox the Management Committee was held at the conclusion of the general meeting, and Mr Proctor was elected chairman. The secretary and treasurer were appointed to sign cheques.
