STACK ENSILAGE.
PROPOSED DEMOSTRATION
A few months ago, Mr Dibble, Government Agricultural instructor, gave a lecture on the above subject to the members of the Shannon Branch t f the Farmers’ Uuiou. At the tlose, the lecturer offered to come to Shannon and give a practical demonstration it a crop of maize was provided him. The offer was accepted, and Mr Saunders was asked to provide an area of about four acres at the Shannon bridge. The crop is now nearly ready ior cutting, and as soon as Mr Dibble returns from Taranaki, he will fix a date for the demonstration, and invite all farmers to be present to see the modus operaudi.
A corn binder will be on the ground Ibis week. It is claimed that this machine cuts the maize, ties it in bundles, and tilts the bundles off in heaps ready for carting to the stack.
The date of the demonstration will be announced through these columns. There will doubtless be a large attendance of farmers.
