DAMAGES FOR LIBEL.
London, March 10,
The Roman Catholic Bishop of Cloyne and six priests sued the “Dundee Courier,’’ which alleged that the Roman Catholic clergy in (Queenstown had ordered the discharge of Protestant assistants in shops owned by Roman Catholics.
The Bishop claimed damages amounting to ,£2,000, and the priests ,£SOO each. The case has now concluded, the jury awarding the Bishop ,£2OO and the priests ,£SO each.
