BOWLING CLUB CARNIVAL.

OPENS TO-MORROW

Quite the event of the season the Bowling Club’s Carnival, will be opened to-morrow afternoon in the Coronation Hall, at 2.30 by His Worship the Mayor. The carnival will remain open all the afternoon and evening, visitors thus being able to remain and have their tea. On Thursday it will open during the evening only.

The ladies committee have worked very hard to ensure the success of the gathering, and patrons are promised a display of goods never equalled in Foxtou. The following are the stallholders, who will mostly appear in fane.' dress, and they will be ably assisted in their duties by a bevy of young ladies : —Fancy stall, Mesdames Hamer and A. Ross, where will be found fancy goods of every description, including the dainty importations from Liberty’s, Loudon ; plain and children’s, Mesdames Witchell and Petrie, includes children’s clothes, furniture, etc.; produce, Misses Coley (Himataugi), all that is best from the country ; flowers, Mesdames Greig and Boyes. In connection with this stall the children will be well provided for as it is understood a real old time fisherman will arrive with sundry things to delight the young folk ; sweets, Mesdames Adams and Woods, here are sweets not the ordinary ones, but each a palate charmer ; Tea rooms, Mesdames C, Robinson and A. M. Nye ; where one can rest and enjoy the cup that cheers but does not inebriate, together with a dainty morsel, Those desirous of winning a wardrobe, an oil painting, or becoming the possessor of a sheep or sucking pig should look up Mr Woods, who has charge of this department. During the evening the Motuili Natives will be seen in hakas and poi dances. All those seeking an evening’s outing either for amusement, profit or to drive away dull care will be more than satisfied by a visit to the carnival.

The Foxton Baud have very kindly consented to play selections outside the hall each evening.
