MOUTOA NOTES.

The annual picuic lu couuection with the Moutoa school will take place ou Dr Wall’s grounds, when a large gathering is anticipated. A committee of ladies have charge of details, and the matter of prizes and awards are iu the hands of the headmaster, Mr Galland. Over £9 has been collected towards prizes.
The crops of oats and wheat iu this locality have practically all fallen down, as a result of overgrowth and wet weather. It is reported that two local farmers are contemplating a trip to England. Good luck to them ! lu our report of the meeting at Moutoa regardiug the proposed school at Marotiri, last issue, Mr Hraik was reported to have said, iu explaining that he considered a side school under the charge of the Moutoa school would best meet the case, that this school would be for children up to Standard VI. This should have read, for children up to Standard IV.
