ENTERTAINMENTS.

PICTURE SHOW

To-morrow night there will be a special picture show in aid of the Palmerston North high school. As the above school is badly in need of iunds, and is attended by local scholars, the Council have decided to run a special picture show, the net proceeds of which will be handed over to the above institution. It is hoped that the public of Foxton will respond by attending the show in order that a substantial sum may be realised. A special programme will be submitted, every item of which is well worth seeing. A splendid drama by the S. and A. Company, entitled “ For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” also “Monsieur,” “In the Great Big West,” etc., are all good stirring dramas, with plenty of excitement all through. The star picture will be a comedy by the Bison Company, “ The Cowboy’s Vacation,” a very bright, clear picture, brimming with amusement. “ Religious of Persia ” will provide a most iuteiesting and instructive study, A topical film by the Gaumont Company will show the launching of the great battleship H.M.S. Australia. An industrial film of “Manufacture of Cotton Laire” should be most attractive. “Tonto’s Seranade ” is funny, “ Bill and the Bear” is funnier, and the funniest thing of all is “Tweedledum’s Motor Car,” this car once seen is never forgotten. A good evening’s amusement is promised, and it is to be hoped the public will turn out, one and all, and make the affair a decided success, in order that the Council will be able to send a good round sum for. the building fund of the new District High School.
