A YOUNG SCOUNDREL.
AND HIS JUST REWARD
Thames, Feb. 1
A young man named George Dodson, with a long record of previous convictions, was sentenced to day to three months’ for vagrancy. He came to Thames with a woman of ill repute, and while living on the proceeds of her shame he had the audacity to insinuate himself into the home of a respectable local resident. Representing himself as a traveller for a well-known firm, he courted a young girl and secured her affection. The Bench stigmatised his conduct as most scoundrelly, and regretted that the punishment inflicted was the maximum allowed by the law.
