Christchurch, Jan. 29

Caroline Elstob, a married woman, 33 years of age, died on Saturday morning under. circumstances necessitating an inquest.

A post mortem examination indicated that an illegal operation had been performed. The inquest was opened and adjourned till Wednesday.
