Nine million acres ol laud have been acquired there, with the intention to raise and export chilled meat to Europe. The beef syndicate in combination with a steamship syndicate, hopes ultimately to open the British and German markets to live cattle, and they are purchasing at the outset the best strains of ITereford and Durham cattle to improve the South American stock.
