TOWN CLERK'S REPORT
The Tow n CWV submitted the following r eport on the workings of the borough for the past month, at Monday night’s Council meeting : 1 ‘ The roadm"" for the greater part of the mom a m. e been working on gas mains or services, and have also removed grass, weeds and rubbish uom Main street. The footpath iu Coley street (south side) has been re-formed. The cement and gravel for concreting the floor under the Town Hall has now arrived, and will be gone on with as soon as the men are free from the gas work. The grass in the cemetery also needs cutting. "The picture shows in the Town Hall continue to be well patronised, and the very excellent films screened are the subject of universal admiration. Owing to the disturbance and annoyance caused to ladies aud children by whistling and cat calls, I instituted proceedings against two of the principal offenders, who were convicted aud ordered to pay costs 17s 6d iu each case, the next offender will be more severely dealt with."
