MAJORITY IN FAVOUR, 53.296

The whole of the returns on the National Prohibition poll have now been sent in, and the totals for the Dominion have been compiled by the Chief Electoral Officer. The figures are still subject to revision, but it is unlikely that the totals staled below- will be affected in any important degree. Following are the Dominion totals - Against National Prohibit’n 202,623 For National Prohibition 255,919 The majority in favour of National Prohibition was 53,296, equal to 55. dr per cent, of the votes cast- The three-fifths majority required to carry the proposal was 275,125 1-5 voles. The actual majority is short of this number by 19,206 1-5 votes. The following table shows the voting for National Prohibition in the districts ot the Dominion where a three-fifths, or greater majority, was cast in favour of that issue :
