CRICKET.
On the Park pitch on Saturday alter noon, Awahou defeated Foxton by 69 runs on the first innings. Foxton won the loss, and sent Awahou in, Bowe and Redgrave opening to the bowling of Howe and Whibley. With the score at two Redgrave was badly missed by Howe. The first wicket fell with the total at 7, Bowe being caught in the slips. Redgrave was joined by Kuewstub and runs came fairly freely. At 26 Kuewstub put up one from S pel man into the slips, and it was held by Howe. Haeaua joined his captain, and after scoring four was badly missed by Whibley. Despite numerous changes in the bowling the score mounted up, Redgrave making the runs whilst Haeaua kept his wicket up. With the score at 107 Barber bowled Haeaua. Eleven runs later Redgrave, in stepping out to a short pitched one from Barber, was smartly stumped by Cook. With the score at 128 for six wickets, Redgrave declared the innings closed. Foxton opened badly, Whibley being clean bowled alter two byes had been scored. The second wicket fell with the score at 15, the third at 17 and the fourth at 19. Howe and Galvin then became associated and brought the total up to 42 before a separation was effected. The iest ol the batsmen, however, were only equal to adding another 17 runs and the innings closed for 59. The following are the scores

MAIT AI v. A TIKI,
Teams from the Maitai and Atiki mills met on the Maitai pitch on Saturday afternoon, when Maitai scored a rather easy victory uy an tunings and twelve runs. Atiki batted first, but were only able to put up 14 runs. Wickham secured five wickets at a cost of four runs, and Richards four lor lour. Maitai replied with 60, of which number Richards scored 15. Atiki in their second venture were all disposed of for 34, leaving the Maitai-ites victors by the above mentioned margin. During the afternoon both teams were most hospitably entertained at afternoon tea by Mesdames Fuller and Jeffries.
