ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

DUNRDIR, Nov. 26.

A distressing accident, ending fatally, occurred at Tower Harbour on Wednesday night. Mrs C. H. Pickering, while holding her four months old child in her arms, took a lit and fell into the kitchen fire. They were alone in the house, and both she and the child were severely burned. On Thursday they were removed to a cottage hospital at Port Chalmers, and yesterday morning the child died. Mrs Pickering’s injuries are not serious.

WkUU.NGXON, Nov. 26. Vernon Richardson, a member of the D battery, and son of Captain Richardson, of the Defence Department, was driving along Hutt Road on Saturday afternoon with other members of the company, when he fell off and a ol the vehicle passed over lower part ot Richardson’s body, causing severe injuries. Richardson died in the hospital to-day. Deceased was a single man, and was employed as a chemist’s sistant.
