BAIRD—ROUGH.
The marriage of Miss Rough, eldest daughter of our respected citizen Mr George Rough, of Furcell Street, with Mr William Baird, engineer on the s.s. Wakatu, look place at her father’s residence on Tuesday afternoon. The ceremony was a quiet one and attended only by relatives of the lamily. The bride wore a cream travelling dress and hat to match. The bridesmaid was Miss Nean Rough, and groomsman Mr C. Baird, of Invercargill. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. K. Aitkeu. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold cable oangle, and to the bridesmaid a gold pendant and chain. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a pair 01 gold sleeves links. The guests sat down to a sumptuous repast prepared and served by Mr Ferrean in his best style. The usual toasts were heartily observed and the happy couple departed by motor to Levin, eu route to spend the honeymoon in {Southland, amidst the good wishes of iriends and showers of rice.
