Ladies and gentlemen.—l shall be a candidate fur election to a seat on the Manawatu County Council as representative of this district, and I shall take a later opportunity of presenting to you my claims for that position. I have not been able to put matters to all the ratepayers as fully as 1 should have liked ; 1 have, however, given all some idea of what I think about maintenance ol County roads and expenditure of our money. It is not my intention to agree with or contradict anything reaching me second hand and I shall have no opportunity now before the election in any case ; we are all aware of this. To-morrow you have to decide who rs to represent you on the Council for the next three years ; should 1 be elected my aim will be to administer our affairs and maintain our roads in such a manner as to conserve the best interests of all the ratepayers.
