CADET NOTES

Last week the Cadets participated in a sham-fight on the hills near the race-course. The enemy, represented by a company of boys under Lt. Wilson, occupied a position near the fibre-paddocks, and the Cadets under Lt. Davey strove to dislodge them ; and if the fighting was not all carried out according to the most orthodox methods of modern warfare, the boys certainly enjoyed themselves, and no doubt learnt something from the afternoon’s proceedings. On Tuesday Capt. Gabites delivered a shore lecture to the boys on “ map-making,” and included a few hints on “ skirmishing.”
