Sir, —Please allow me to vent a grievance through your valuable paper iu regard to the children’s ball. This is iu reference to those iu charge—not the Council this time, 1 presume. I sent my two children, aged respectively 10 and re, to the ball, which was supposed to be iree, and they were sent home for the money to pay admittance, .and were charged one shilling each. I should like to ask if this is an isolated case, and why, because it seems very cold. —I am, etc.,
