WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Vv&ugauoi Education Board was held on 7*i outlay myr.l- Present: Mv.ss.s I'itd A.w.ni E. Dixon, P. U'Dea, i*. Pnnici!, and F. M. Spuiule. Reave ui absence was given to Messis D. H. Guthrie, M.P., All. Fraser, and J. F. Aldridge. The Chairman was authorised to arrange for a loan of from the Public Trust Office. Mr J. Bayliss, tenant of the Board at Foxlon, to be informed that he must pay the sanitary rate. The Chairman and Chief Inspector were authorised to deal with a large number of transfers and appointments of pupil-teachers and assistants. It was decided to allow pupils for proficiency certificates in private schools to sit for examination at their own schools, provided an outside supervisor is employed. Appointments confirmed: Oroua Downs, assistant, Miss F. McKenzie ; Orauthoha, Mr A. Sellars, sole teacher; Alton, Mr T. R. Best; Rata, assistant, Miss I. Young ; Wanganui, assistant, Miss Pinches.

Mr Fraser reported in favour of proceeding with the additions to Moutoa school and recommended the erection of a new school about y/z miles from Foxtou, Additions to be proceeded with at once, and necessary papers to be forwarded to those interested in new school.
