FOXTON BOWLING CLUB.

The formal opening of the local green and croquet lawn will take place on Saturday afternoon (Oct, 2ist), at 2.15 o’clock. Visiting club representatives are expected from various centres, and given fine weather a very enjoyable time is anticipated. The ladies will provide afternoon tea. It was hoped that the pavilion would have been erected in time for to-morrow’s gathering, but owing to a number of causes over which the club had no control this has been found impossible. The contractor hopes to proceed with the work at an early date. The caretaker, Mr Spring, is sparing no pains to have the green in tiptop order also the croquet lawn, so the ladies will be able to take a prominent part in the proceedings. The public are cordially invited to be present.
