CRICKET.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION,
A meeting of delegates to the Foxton Cricket Association was held in the Family Hotel on Saturday evening. Present: — Messrs C. Hunt (chairman), Brock, Nye, Martin, Davey, Whibley and Stewart (secretary). The following clubs nominated 1 teams for the Association’s competition; Maitai, Awahou, Himataugi and Foxton. It was decided to play on the 28th instant.
The matter of arranging fixtures was discussed, and Mr Whibley was appointed to draft fixtures and submit same at a meeting of the Association to be held in the Family Hotel on Tuesday evening. Other minor matters were discussed and the meeting rose.
About 20 players turned out to practice on the Park pitch on Saturday afternoon, when a scratch match was played. Considering that this was the first practice held this season, a num-y ber ot the players showed fairly good form, particularly Redgrave who gave a good display of batting.
