POLITICAL.
“I want to go into Parliament,” said Mr Byron Brown on Wednesday night at Paekakariki, “to help towards a change of Government, but let the electors clearly understand that I am not a strong Party man. This detestable system of Party has done more to bring about corruption in the administration and the enslavement of the members than any other cause. Party government stultifies a man’s conscience, tongueties him in the House, and makes him vote against many a good measure that he knows in his heart would be for the benefit of the masses. lam not desirous of going into Parliament to have my manhood and conscience crushed out ol me under the wheels of any Party Juggernaut, and if that is what the Otaki electors want, they had better not vote for me.” — Contributed.
