OPENING OF NEW HALL.

There was a committee meeting of the Borough Council last night to arrange about the opening ot the Coronation Town Hall. It was decided to open the hall on Wednesday, October iSth, with a concert programme for the first half and high-class picture entertainment for the second half of the programme. The prices of admission will be dress circle as, stalls is 6d, and pit is. Children will be admitted at halt price to all parts. On the Friday following, the 20th, it was decided to hold a citizens plain and fancy dress ball. It was decided to engage Hanley’s orchestra to supply the dance music and to call for tenders for catering. The charges for admission were fixed as under: —Double ticket ios fid, gents 7s fid, extra lady 3s fid and to charge is for onlookers in the dress circle. Tables, etc., will be provided on the stage tor nondancers who pay the full prices. Messrs Dr. Adams, Cr. Carter and Mr Alf. Fraser were appointed M’s.C.
