DOMINION DAY.
The Chairman of the local State School Committee has received the following communication from the secretary of the Wanganui Education Board : —I am instructed to inform you that the Board, iu accordance with the expressed desire of the Government requires the pupils of each school to salute the flag at 11 o'clock on the morning of Dominion Day, Monday, 25th instant. It is also desired that the junior cadets and their officers shall co-operate with the local authorities in any celebrations that may be observed. Permission is given to the cadets and their officers to be absent from school during the time that the celebrations are iu progress.
