Sir John Findlay is to be asked by a representative deputation at Auckland to-dav to allow himself to be nominated for the Parnell seat. The present member, Mr Frank Lawry, is not again contesting the. seat, Waipawa, Sept. 21.
A caucus of the Liberal Party held yesterday to select a candidate for the Waipawa seat was attended by seventy. The Hon T. Mackenzie and Mr A. E. Jull were suggested, but alter three hours’ discussion no decision was arrived at, and the meeting adjourned for seven days. The northern end was solid for Mr Jull, and the southern favours Mr Mackenzie.
