FOXTON STATION
ANNUAL RETURNS.
From the official Railway Statement we take the following returns of the business transacted at the local railway station during the twelve months ended March 31st, 1911. OUTWARD. During the year 783 first class single, 974 first class return, 11,984 second class single, 11,973 second class return and 106 season tickets were issued. Parcels, stock, goods, grain, etc., as follows were forwarded ; 940 parcels, 93 horses, 2 carriages, 92 dogs, 1 dray, 302 trucks chaff etc, 29 cattle, 3,089 sheep, 1,002 pigs, 2152 bales wool, 36 trucks firewood, 155.900 ft timber, 1,122 tons grain, 9,431 tons merchandise, 6,956 tons minerals. The amount taken for ordinary passengers was ,£2,824 ns 8d and for season tickets ,£l6l 12s 6d, the revenue from parcels was £l4B 8s yd, from luggage, mails, etc., £24 7s id, from goods .£11,378 5s 3d, miscellaneous ,£620! 7s 2d, rents and commission £249 7s, making a total of £15,406 19s 3d. INWARD. During the same period the following entered inwards ; 4300 parcels. 93 horses, 12 carriages, 156 dogs, 23 drays, 1289 trucks chaff, etc., 186 cattle, 11,034 sheep, 21 pigs, 6,743 bales wool, 223 trucks firewood, 1,151,600 ft timber, 3233 tons grain, 4,411 tons merchandise and 6,723 tons minerals.
During the twelve mouths there have beeu seven hands employed and the hours the office had been kept open has beeu 12. The traffic expenditure for the year was ,£2,332 13s rod.
