CONCERT.

There was a full house _at the concert held last night in All Saints’ schoolroom and the programme was greatly appreciated. Such a programme with supper thrown in, for the sum of one shilling, would be hard to beat. Certain it is that All Saints’ Cadies Guild are prepared to cater more for social intercouse than iiaucial gain. Mr R. T. Betty was again responsible for the bill-of’-fare while the ladies provided an abundance of refreshments. The Rev. Mr Woodward occupied the chair. Some fresh local talent was produced, which will be a great acquisition at future local concerts. In Mrs McKenzie, a new arrival, Foxtou possesses a very talented vocalist, and her first appearance last night created a very favourable impression, and she was deservedly encored for her vocal efforts. Mr Hollington, who possesses a good baritone voice, scored well in his rendering of the “ Admiral Broom.” Miss King is the possessor of a sweet’voice and a pleasing personality, and bids fair to become a warm favourite with local audiences. The audience was pleased to again see and hear the glee party. Their numbers: ‘‘Where Art Thou Beam of Tight ” and “ Tittle Boy Blue ” were splendidly rendered. Mesdames Boyes aud Robinson’s duet “ I Know a Bank,” was one of the gems of the evening. There is room for more concerted items of this nature on our concert programmes. The above ladies also contributed solos. Miss McDonald sang the ‘‘Better Tand ” very feelingly. This young lady also played a pianoforte solo. Mr Yates’ humorous items brought down the house. Messrs Stephens and Buglass were in good voice, aud their numbers were much appreciated. Mrs Stephenson, Misses Hodgson and Anderson, and Mr Horublow contributed recitations. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Boyes, Misses Jenks aud McDonald. The National Anthem concluded a very enjoyable programme. *
