FOOTBALL.

HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.

A meeting of the management committee ut the above was held in Devin on Tuesday night. Present :—Messrs Proctor (chairman), Easther, McMillan, Whibley, Kaurauti and Burge (secretary). In connection with the Foxton appeal case a letter was read from the Secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union, advising that before the case could be submitted to the Appeal Board the Horowhenua Union must give a decision on the matter. —It was decided on the motion of Mr Burge seconded by Mr Whibley, that in view of the referee’s statement and powers conferred on referees' in the laws of the game under the heading of Powers ot Referees, the appeal of the Foxton Club be dismissed. Accounts amounting to ,£35 were passed for payment.

The Awarua Union wrote asking if Horowhenua could send a team to Taihape this year.— The secretary was instructed to reply advising that owing to the lateness of the season it was now found impossible to get a team to travel, but the Horowhenua reps, would be on tour next season and would then play a match with Awarua at Taihape. Mr J. VV. Proctor was appointed manager of the team to travel to Masterton on Friday. Other minor matters were discussed and the meeting terminated.
