Chicago, August i<s. Myrtle Reed McCullough, the American authoress, is dead, from an overdose of sleeping powder. She left a letter reflecting on her husband’s treatment, and leaving a legacy to a faithful servant. The ill-fated authoress, who acquired fame under her maiden name of Myrtle Reed, was born in it>74, aud married Mr J. Sidney McCullough in 1906. She was the authoress of ‘‘ Love Letters of a Musician,” ‘‘Lavender and Old Lace,” ” A Spinner iu the Sun,” “The Book of Clever Beasts,” “ Love Affairs of Literary Men,” ” Old Rose and Silver,” aud other works iu prose and verse.
