BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the Foxton Borough Council was held In the Council Chamber on Thursday night, to affix seal to debenture in connection with loan of £’1250 ou account of Beach road and general. There were present: —His Worship the Mayor (G. H. Stiles Esq.,) and Crs. Adams, Carter, Chrystall, Coley, Gibbs, Rimmer, Speirs and Stewart.

It was decided on the motion of Cr Coley seconded by Cr Stewart, that the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors and Burgesses of the Borough of Foxton be affixed to the debenture No. 1 in respect of a loan of £1250 from the New Zealand State Guaranteed Advances Office and that the Mayor and Borough Treasurer be authorised to sign same. There was some discussion on the question of engine and dynamo for the Coronation Town Hall, and it was eventually decided on the motion of Cr Gibbs seconded by Cr Carter, that the Town Clerk write the various firms and ask them to quote for 15 b.h. power gas engine and dynamo of 100 volts and 80 lamps, or near as possible. Same to be erected and run by them for seven days.
