SATURDAY’S FIXTURES,

Senior. —Hui Mai v. Levin, at Levin. Mr Kingi Tahivvi. Foxton v. Shannon, at Foxtou. Mr Desmond. Tainui a bye. Junior. —Tainui v. Weraroa, at Otaki, Mr T. Parata. Koputaroa v. College at Otaki. Hui Mai a bye.

On Saturday Foxton and Shannon seniors will meet on the Racecourse and a real good game should eventuate. The Shannon team is improving every match and last Saturday fully extended Levin-Wanderers. The game will commence puntcually at 2.45 p.m., and Mr J. Desmond will have charge of the whistle. The price of admission is one shilling. Mr R. Smith, the newly-ap-pointed sole selector of the Horowhenua i; rep” team, will be in attendance at the Foxton-Shanuon match on Saturday, and at the conclusion of the game will select the team to play Manawatu on the following Saturday. HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the above was held at Levin last night. Present : J. W. Proctor (chairman), Karauti, McMillan, Whibley and Burge (secretary), Sid Pou and Poara, members of the Koputaroa team, who were ordered off the field by the referee in last Saturday’s Koputaroa-Hui Mai match, attended and gave evidence, after hearing which it was decided that no lurther action be taken against them. Diamond, ot the Hui Mai junior team, ordered off the field in the same match for striking an opponent, did not appear. It was pointed out that there was a possibility of him not having received notice of the meeting as he lived some distance from a post office. — It was decided that he be disqualified until he appears before the Union.

The Wanganui Union wrote asking if Horowheuua could send their “rep” team to Wanganui this year and if so requesting that a date be fixed. —It was decided to write advising that it was the intention of the Horowhenua Union to visit Wanganui this season and a suitable date would be suggested later.

The return Horowhenua-Mana-watu match was fixed to be played at Palmerston North on Saturday, July 29th, and Mr J, W. Proctor was appointed manager of the Horowhenua team. The appointment of referee was left to the Manawatu Union.

Messrs Proctor, Burge and Whibley were appointed Horowhenua's delegates on the committee of management in connection with the Horowhenua-Mana-watu amalgamation for “rep” fixtures with Wellington, Auckland and Taranaki. The first meeting of the committee will be held at Palmerston North on the 29th instant.
