OPENING OF PARLIAMENT.

TO REASSEMBLE ON 27th,

It is definitely announced that Parliament will reassemble on Thursday, 27th inst. An Imprest Supply Bill will be put through on the Friday, as the extended appropriations are only available up to the 31st, and the Address-in-Reply debate will commence on the Tuesday (rst August). It is understocd that the Government’s legislative programme is in an advanced state ot preparation, and that if Ihe debate should collapse at an early date, there will be several Bills ready for discussion. The most important business of the session wiil be held over until the return of Sir Joseph Ward. Ministers have not yet received any advice as to when he will leave England, but it is understood that he will reach Wellington about the 24th August.—Post.
