A HUGE SUCCESS

The euchre party and dance held by the Fox ton Bowling Club last night can only be described as a huge success. The hall was most tastefully decorated with evergreens and mirrors, set off with the Club colours, A special feature ot the decorations was a latticed archway erected on the stage, with the word “Welcome” in large letters suspended above it. The interior of the Masonic Hall has never before presented such a magnificent spectacle. The room was taxed to its utmost capacity, and the spirit of enjoyment was abroad until the end. ihe following were the prize winners: — First, ladies', Mrs R. Easton, second Miss R. Dudson, booby Mrs N. Collins ; First, gentlemen, Mr A. Clemett, second Mr C. Spring, booby Mr Guy Edwards. After supper dancing was indulged in till 2 a.m. Messrs Dr Adams and A. Kellow officiated as M’s.C., and carried out their duties in a praiseworthy manner. The prizes were donated by Mesdames A. Speirs, Parkes, C. Robinson, Hamer, and Mr Jas. Ross, to whom the Club feel very grateful. The ladies’ committee, Mesdames Greig, Adams, Petrie, Nye, Witchell, Parkes, A. Ross, Hamer, C. Robinson, Woods, Boyes and Misses Speirs (2) and J. A. Ross (secretary) were responsible for the great success of the gathering, and were accorded three hearty cheers for their work, with an extra one for Mrs Greig, under whose leadership the decorating was done. The catering left nothing to be desired, and the music, by Mr Berthold, was first-class.
