A. AND P. ASSOCIATION'S NEW SECRETARY.
MR F. W. PENNY APPOINTED. The A. and P. Association’s Finance Committee met yesterday to make a final selection for the secretaryship of the Manawatu A. and P. Association, rendered vacant through the resignation of Mr J. C. Dane. It will be remembered that at the last meeting of the General Committee, the Finance Committee’s report was discussed and approved. That committee had reduced the applicants to three. Mr E. Harley, of Christchurch, Mr H. F. Gibson, of Oamaru, and the successful candidate, Mr F". W. Penny, of Paeroa. yesterday the committee sat at twelve o’clock and personally interviewed the three candidates. Eventually alter the personal interviews it was' decided to appoint Mr Penny. The successtul applicant is in the prime of life, and has had experience both in commercial and agricultural life. He was for some years in the office of the New Zealand Eoan and Mercantile Agency Co. in Auckland and latterly has been in business as an accountant in Paeroa.
