BREACH OF FLAXMILLERS’ AWARD.

The Manawatu Flaxmill Employees’ Union proceeded against A. and 1,. Seifert for a breach of the Flaxmillers’ Award, at yesterday’s sitting of the Palmerston N. S.M. Court, in allowing their employees to carry flax over a chain and a-half to a tramline. Mr Oakley, who appeared for defendant, pleaded guilty, and asked that only a nominal penalty should be inflicted. For the Union, Mr R. Dalhousie asked for a substantial penalty, alleging that the offence was deliberate. A fine of £2 and costs 13s was inflicted.
