FOOTBALL.
The. local State school senior team proceeded to Shannon this morning to try conclusions with the combined strength of the Shannon and Tokomaru schools team. The local lads are being coached by the head teacher, and should give a good account of themselves this year. Next Saturday the Horowhenua and Manawatu representative football teams will meet at Levin. The Horowhenua team, which will be finally selected to-night, will include Bowe, Reid and Rore from the Foxton Club. The selection of another Foxton player depends on his showing to day in the match against Hui Mai.
