YOUNG WOMAN’S DEATH.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES. Auckland, June 29. An adjourned inquest relating to the sudden death of the young woman Elsie Holland at the residence of Mrs O’Shaughnessey, in Kingsland road, was resumed today. Dr. Wilson, who was associated with Dr. Bull in conducting a post-mortem examination of the body, gave the detailed result of examination. On the evidence present he was of opinion that the cause of death was septicaemia, arising from an attempt made to perform an illegal operation. Deceased's mouth contained perchloride of mercury, a virulent poison, but there was no tra'ce of poison in the stomach. He was therefore sure that death had not resulted from that agency. He considered that poison was placed in her mouth immediately before or after death, and inclined to the opinion that it was put in after death.
