The following letter was received from Father Cognet by the committee of ministers arranging the Coronation service at Levin : “ Your courteous note, re Coronation service, to hand. In reply, I beg to inform you that our Diocesan authorities have already directed us to hold ‘ special prayers’ in our respective churches at the very hour of the Coronation. It will therefore be impossible for me to take part in your combined service at the Levin Post Office. You may rest satisfied that our Catholic body will gladly and earnestly seize this occasion of asserting their loy^Jty

by praying for the peace and prosperity of the Empire under the reign of our gracious Majesties.” ,
