The Manawatu Herald. TUESDAY, JUNE 13, 1911. NOTES AND COMMENTS.
In respect to the sorting ol the Wellington night mail into the private boxes at the local post office, which we previously suggested should be done on its arrival each evening, Mr Clemett, local postmaster, informs us that although this mail is timed to arrive at Foxton at 9.30 p.m., the coach service cannot, for obvious reasons, be always expected to run up to time. Bad roads, floods, etc., may necessitate delays which would keep box-holders waiting about for an indefinite time before the mail is sorted. The postmaster adds that it is the opinion of a number of box-holders that if the mail were sorted into the boxes by S a.m. it would suit their convenience, and he has carried this suggestion into effect as from yesterday morning.
