CAUGHT IN MACHINERY,

Auckland, May 31

A young man named Frederick Gallagher employed at Wilson’s cement works, at Maitaitai, met his death there to-day. He was employed attending to machinery, and by some means at present unknown became entangled in the gear. His cries attracted the attention ot fellow workmen engaged in outside duties, and on rushing into the machine room they found that one of Gallagher’s legs had been completely cut off, whilst the other one was crushed to a pulp. Before medical astance arrived the unfortunate man died.
