AN UNUSUAL WEDDING

Auckland, May 26

A wedding was solemnised at Clevedou on Wednesday under unusual circumstances. The bride, Miss Ethel Wallis, was splitting kindling wood ou Tuesday afternoon, and was struck in the eye by a splinter. The injury was serious, and it was found necessary to convey the sufferer to the hospital at once. As everything had been arranged for the ceremony the following day it was decided to allow Miss Wallis to return to Clevedou for her wedding, and at the conclusion of the ceremony she was immediately taken back to the hospital. Borne nine days must elapse before the extent of her injuries are known.
